VAT Made SIMPLE – A Cheat for YOU

Value Added Tax can sometimes be very hard to understand, but you will learn only in some days of using it. There are some simple rules which you need to understand, and your work gets easy. In this jolly blog, we will get through VAT and make it easy forever. So let’s go…
What is VAT?
VAT is the added tax to any product in the United Kingdom. If your business is VAT-registered, then you can take added tax from your customers. After getting the full amount of value-added tax from your customers that you would give to the government, as of them, but after you got it, you gave less while at the same time being right.
Do you need to register?
Yes, you should register for VAT immediately if the total amount of money you are earning in a year is $85000 or more. If it is below the fixed amount of $85k, then it is your choice; you register or not. It depends on some cases: if you buy things that you sell from VAT-registered suppliers, you have to pay VAT, and you can’t recover it if you are not registered.
How to register?
You can simply register your business for VAT online via HMRC. As you open the online source for registration, you have to give them some basic details and data, and you are done. Then you will receive a VAT registration number after some time that must appear on your invoices and official documents.

Let’s Issue Vat Invoices Together
As your business gets registered to VAT, now it is your duty to give every customer an invoice, and you can make invoices with filling in some common information, so all work is simple. This is the way & all the important info which you need to fill in:
- Business name and address.
- VAT number – ID given to you, not the invoice number.
- Date of that day and invoice number which you get after being registered.
- What you sold – the thing.
- Price before VAT, VAT tax which is added, and total price.
Record – What you charge and what you get charged? (Important)
- Output is what you have charged to your customers.
- Input is what you got charged by whom you bought goods from.
If the input is more than the output because of VAT, meaning if the VAT you paid while buying goods is more than what you charged, then HMRC will refund you the VAT amount you paid to the government.
Giving The VAT to Government
There are many apps through which you can pay your Value Added Tax to the government – I choose these: Xero (popular but premium) to ANNA (free but not popular like Xero). You can fill it out through some simple steps: collect records of input, output and sales in MS Word or Excel; sign in to the app you like or even use the government online services; give that MS Word or Excel file; and submit the details. You can give quarterly, which is most common; the time you get to submit your file is only 5 to 7 days, or they will file a penalty on you.
